Islands of Adventure was Universal’s first foray into a theme park that was not purely based on the movie theme, opened with great anticipation in 1999. It’s not hard to see why when you realise the likes of Stephen Spielberg were hired to act as a Creative Consultant during the design of the theme park.
Islands of Adventure is organized into five distinct lands and is set around a large central lake. The “islands” running clockwise around the park are Marvel Super Hero Island, Toon Lagoon, Jurassic Park, The Lost Continent and Seuss Landing.
