A new giraffe calf has been born at the Walt Disney World Animal Kingdom theme park. This is no ordinary birth for the park, as its the first Masai giraffe born at the park.
You learn something new every day, but it turns out there are two sub-species of giraffe roaming the savanna around Kilimanjaro Safari (the Masai and Reticulated). Interestingly, the Masai giraffe is also aptly known as the Kilimanjaro giraffe.
The giraffe calf will be making its home on the Kilimanjaro savanna in the next couple of weeks.
The Disney blog is giving you the opportunity to name the calf, with the choices being from the following:
- Baraka - means blessing
- Knodo – means battle
- Baridi – means frost
- Shingo – means long neck
- Asani – means rebellious
- Mosi – means first
I think I’ll vote for Shingo. To enter your vote to name this beautiful addition to the wildlife at the Animal Kingdom, visit the Disney Blog.
