Kwik-E Mart Opens at Universal Studios

Not suprisingly, Universal Studios have converted the Back to the Future gift store outside the ride into a Kwik-E Mart. So out goes the Delorien that used to sit out front.

At the moment the Kwik-E-Mart sells the usual theme-park toys, T-shirts and other souvenirs, though they all are based on Bart Simpson, his cartoon family and the other good townspeople of Springfield.

Buzz Cola, Squishee drinks and Duff-branded energy drinks are among the Simpson products Universal expects to start appearing in or around the Kwik-E-Mart, said Michael Lewellen, vice president for public relations.

"Universal is about to become Simpsons Central before too long," Lewellen said. "What better way to get the word out that the Simpsons are coming to Universal Studios?"

Apparently there is a yellow phone on the wall in the shop and if you pick it up and listen you can hear a conversation between Bart and Mo. Can't wait to see for myself!
