Simpsons Ride at Universal Studios

It was announced back in the Spring that a Simpsons Ride will be coming to Universal Studios in the Spring of 2008. It appears the ride will be themed around Krusty the Clown and will feature many of the shows stars.

Unfortunately (well I think so) this will replace the Back to the Future ride that's been a firm favorite for the last fifteen years and closed in 2006. I admit, BTTF needed a little TLC, but it was always a favorite with me.

I'm just wondering if anyone has any more info on this? Is it going to be a re-hash of the old BTTF ride with the hydraulic cars and big IMAX screens, or are Universal going to go for it and turn it into an inside coaster or maybe turn it into a ride similar to Spiderman?

Im guessing they will re-do the ride, not alot but make it quite different from the BTTF, as some people have ridden it so much they have memorized it, and just adding simpsons stuff and keeping it the same track would be very stupid.

The BTTF ride isn't a coaster. Basically you sat in huge hydraulic cars in front of huge screen. The premise of the story is your chasing Biff through time.

I can imagine they could do what they did with the Hannah Barberra ride when they switched it to Jimmy Neutron. They pretty much changed the decor and replaced the cars you sit in. The kids love it all the same though.
