Shipping from US back to UK

I want to make a couple of big item purchases when we go back in Oct, however we will be unable to bring them back on the plane, thought I might be able to ship them from our villa we have rented back to the UK I am not bothered about how long it takes just want the best price.

Anyone done this or recommend the best shipper to use

When you say big are you talking size or cost? I've only shipped using usps postal boxes. It costs around $60 for a large (but it aint that large) postal box. There are services like BangUs but they aren't cheap.
