SheiKra, the Busch Gardens Africa roller-coaster that travels 200 feet up, then drops 90 degrees straight down, will go floorless on June 16.
The floorless cars will allow riders an unobstructed view. SheiKra's track will remain unchanged, with its combination of drops, inversions and a water feature finish. But riders will no longer be able to brace themselves against the floor of the car and will feel much more vulnerable for the 200-foot, 90-degree plunge.
The coaster will be closed for about three weeks, beginning the day after Memorial Day, May 28, to make the floorless conversion. Existing seats and shoulder harnesses will be fitted into new chassis that support only the chairs above and the wheels below, leaving open air between each row of seats.
