We just returned from Disney on May 19th, 2008. This was our eighth trip in 20 years and I have never stayed on-site as we usually have eight people going and we would have to use two rooms. My husband and I said that was the last time if we ever go again it will be on-site or I won't return. It is to much stress to stay off-site.

We have stayed at Villas for years and loved them - UP UNTIL THIS YEAR WHEN WE RENTED FROM AN EXTORTIONIST. We rented a beautiful 5 bedroom villa from a woman named ***, Kissimmeee to be exact. We left the villa in great condition, did all the laundry, etc. and have never received our $250 security deposit back. She has never returned our phone calls and came up with a list of charges such as $25 for placing Mickey Mouse back on the shelf. It really has given us a bad taste for villa rental. We are contacting the licesning agency to assist us.
Anyone else had any bad experiences with Villa rentals ?
We have always preffered to stay in the villas but are now very suspect.
They need to have better controls over home owners like this woman.
So - my opinion is it is not chaper if it costs an extra $250 due to non return of security deposits. I hope this is not the norm as it was always a nice option to have for a stay at Disney

    Donna,

That is very upsetting and to be honest, to put a teddy back on the shelf is taking things very much to the extreme. I assume you had a rental contract.

Anyhow, I've edited your post. I don't think it would be fair to "out" the owner on this forum
