Are the fastpasses and express passes for WDW and Universal worth it? I've heard some conflicting views saying that you're better off just waiting until the queues are short or visiting rides at quieter times.

I'm not too bothered about queuing personally (although I am impatient) but one of my travel companions can't really stand for long periods of time due to health issues.
