In an attempt to give the Pirate and Princess Party a new lease of life, the hard-ticketed event is to be renamed Mickey's Pirate & Princess Party.

By all accounts Disney have been struggling to draw in the crowds with the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise losing it's popularity. On occasions, only 9000 tickets have been sold when Disney need to sell 10,000 admissions to the event to break even. Cut backs such as the Disney's Enchanted Adventures Parade only running once instead of the original twice nightly parade has been one of the cost cutting attempts.
