Question? Disabled Parking

Hi Everyone - have just discovered this forum, have visited Orlando 3 times now with my husband and due to visit again in May this year, however this time we are traveling with my brother who is in a wheelchair and his family, we have hired a disabled vehicle but reading some posts i'm not sure if we need to apply for a parking permit or not - any advise welcome thank you
