The initial phase of Flamingo Crossings has begun with land being cleared and utility lines being installed. Flamingo Crossings, which is located in the Western sector of Disney World, is planned to be a mix of hotels/accomodation aimed to compete with the off-site midrange hotels around Disney World. A retail area consisting of shops and restaurants

Work has begun which includes mostly relocating and adding new roadways at this stage.

It is anticipated that work around Flamingo Crossings will take between 8-10 years to complete.
