Memories With Disney Characters While Visiting Disney World

I would love to hear some memorable experiences where you met a Disney character while on your visit to Disney World. This definitely provides for good stories as well as letting others see what you remembered about this great experience. I wish I had one to add, but, I will eventually once I make it there.

When you are young it is easy to be scared to death by these big dressed up characters. I don't know how they do it now but they used to have that mesh screen on their faces where the eyes are supposed to be and it looks like something dressed up to trick you and it is enough to put a fright in you if you are having some unsure feelings. It's better to let the grownups carry on with the characters first, to let the kids see that its safe. Dont make the mistake of just introducing the kid to the character without letting him see mom and dad likes him first.

It's kind of like sitting a kid on santa's lap and the kid just starts screaming. You know.

Well, I've not really hung out with any of the characters, since my one trip to the Paris one I was ill for the entire thing, but I do know someone who is one.

He left a job as a software analyst for an accounting company, to become Goofy. Yes, his resignation letter was followed by global emails joking about leaving a 'mickey mouse' job

He says its hot, loud, and hard work, but a lot more satisfying than writing software in a dead language to stupid deadlines then typing out idiots guide documentation for how to use it.

Interesting. I wonder what the up side to being Goofy is besides being away from his software job.

I bet he has a lifetime pass to the Disney Parks all over the world for doing a job like that.

I wonder what a job like that pays in money, especially compared to being the software writer.

I'd think he probably had to take a cut in pay filling a position of a Goofy character for Disney.

It's be too hot for me, no doubt.

The first time I went to Disney World, it was when I was like 8. I remember that I used to go up to all the disney characters and get my hat signed. By the time I left, my whole hat was covered with all these signatures. I still have the hat, which is in a glass case in my room. It's just one of my few priceless collections.

I remember when I was young my mom sent me there with my grandma and all of the characters signed my little autograph book. That was some REAL fun!
