We know that the Dixie Stampede recently closed to the disappointment of many after selling the property and surrounding land to developers. Well, Jim Hill has been gossiping again and has come up with a story surrounding Disney taking on the building that used to house the Dixie Stampede and turning it into a High School Musical themed dinner show.
There's plenty of conjecture in the article, but basically the gist is that Disney need a venue for the dinner show while High School Musical is still popular (they expect the franchise to burn out in a year or two, and that the Dixie Stampede building will remain dormant for about the same period.
Therefore, if Disney can get their hands on a short-term lease for the building then they may be interested.
Jim Hill : Monday Mouse Watch : Could the now-defunct Dixie Stampede soon become home to a new "High School Musical" -themed show?
What I don't understand is, if the building would be available for a HSM show, why didn't they Dixie Stampede show sell the site, but then short-term lease it back. As far as I was aware, the dinner show was making a profit (although I couldn't put my house on that).
What do you think, would Disney be interested in shipping it's guests off site for a show like this?
