How Long Should You Stay in Disney World?

I was wondering how long you think it is worth staying in Disney World, assuming two adults who just want to explore the park, try a few rides and have a quick look around.

I've heard of families going for as long as two weeks. Personally we would like to stay in Orlando for a total of Two Weeks, but that would include other tours, shopping, and just generally getting out and about to see the rest of the area.

We'd like to explore the parks, but don't want that to be our only experience.

How long would you bank on staying in the parks to get enough time to look around, but not so long you end up bored?

Honestly, I would probably be one of the ones that would stay within the park for 2-3 weeks, just because I want that experience to be the best ever! Then, I would spend another 2 weeks just wandering around Orlando to the other attractions that this city has to offer. I would definitely call it a vacation as I wouldn't have to worry about anything except what I want to do to have fun next for over a month.

    Thanks for your thoughts.

I can't afford to spend more than two weeks over there total, but if you think it really is worth it I'd try spending a week in the resort, and the rest of the time exploring Orlando.

I was only planning on spending a 'long weekend' there though - is it really THAT huge?

I haven't been there, but, I am the explorer type of person and always make things that I enjoy longer than they really need to be. lol

Yeah... Orlando is that big. I lived in Florida (about 30-45 minutes from Orlando) for 5 years and I still never got to explore it all. You will definately want to check out Downtown Disney, as they have some AWESOME restaurants that are a must if you like gourmet food.

Speaking of that... if you like calamari, the calamari at Rainforest Cafe is to die for.

Gourmet food is definitely something that I tend to love a lot. I will definitely have to check out Downtown Disney. Thanks for the tip scheda. I had a feeling it was pretty big which is why I was going to stay for so long. Definitely would give me an experience, also, I might end up finding myself returning there shortly after leaving, I may just become that addicted who knows. lol

Thanks for the tips - I love food, I'm vegetarian, but I'll scour the guide books and see if theres anything good for me in Downtown Disney.

It sounds like this might need a short trip now, and revisits in the next few years. I'm starting to understand why friends and family keep going back!

    Hi,
I too would probably enjoy a longer visit at Disney World. So what I'm planning is a simple visit for now and then get a glimpse of some things that I will want to come back and check out. I'm sure there will be several things that I want to take a second look at as well.

So the next time I do Disney world I do plan on spending some extended time and taking advantage of the multi day discounts.

I'm looking forward to this experience.

Our last trip was 15 days at WDW.... and I was sad when I had to go... Although I did do 1 day US and went to the Space Center I could easily have staid in WDW all that time.

I can't say it enough to people: WDW is more then attractions alone. there is a lot more to see. All the great shows, fireworks but also hidden gems inside the park, nice restaurants, shopping and the waterparks (forgotten by many but o so great)...

I can walk in a park and enjoy a whole day of magic without going on a ride. 15 days at WDW, easy... I could stay a year (if I could)

The first thing everyone mentions is the rides for some reason, and theres still a lot of 'this is for kids' going on in many peoples heads.

I had no idea the size and breadth of WDW until I started planning a trip - I think they really should push some of the other stuff as a lot of people are missing out due to misconceptions.
